Alarm Signals

Emergency Instructions

Building Evacuation Alarm

acoustic signal: .........

Signal lasts 90 seconds
Blue lights flashing in buildings where alarms are sounding
Sections of NFO staff in action

  • Close the windows

  • Switch off PCs and small ventilators

  • Bring experiments in a safe state

  • Evacuate any building in which an alarm is sounding

  • Follow the "Emergency Exit" signs to the marked assembly point

  • At the assembly point, wait for instructions from the NFO staff, and follow them

Emergency Alarm

acoustic signal:--- ---

Signal lasts 90 seconds
Complete NFO staff in action

  • Stay where you are

  • Close all doors and windows

  • If possible, obtain information via the PSI-Intranet

  • Wait for instructions from the NFO staff, and follow them

End of Alarm

acoustic signal: continuous

Continuous tone lasts 60 seconds

  • All emergency instructions lifted

  • Resume normal activity
