Diffractometers
- High Resolution Diffractometer
The high resolution diffractometer is located at
28 m from the source.
The modest demagnification of 2.5:1 guarantees a highly parallel beam,
a prerequisite of large unit-cell protein crystallography. The main
components of the device are a high precision air-bearing rotation axis and an A-frame for
detector positioning.
- Resolutions limits for the mar225 CCD detector at Se K-edge
High resolution limit (2 θ = 90 °): 0.7 Å
High resolution limit (Distance sample-detector = 1250 mm): 5.5 Å
Unit cell limit (Distance sample-detector = 1250 mm): 2300 Å
Low resolution limit (Distance sample-beamstop = 150 mm): 400 Å
- µ-diffractometer
The MAATEL μm-diffractometer is available for user experiments.
The sphere of confusion is below 2 µm and the size of the focussed beam is 25 μm x 5 μm. MAD experiments are possible.
The changeover between the diffractometers takes half an hour and it is possible to use both devices within one shift.
